Hello, all
I installed the free 12 month CA EZ Antivirus
Real time protection is turned off. I find no option to turn it on.
The CA help is no help. It says, "You can check the status of the real-time protection by opening EZ Antivirus, and selecting the 'Details' button next to the Antivirus Protection Status text at the bottom of the window. You can enable your real-time protection from here."
But there is is nothing like an "enable" button. ??

How to turn on CA EZ Antivirus real-time?

You do it by opening EZ Antivirus and selecting Virus Scanning in the menu -> Scan Settings ->Real-time Scanner where you can enable or disable the Real-time Scanner setting.

I contacted CA's customer support. They say they're aware of the problem and are working on it.

I just installed CA EZ (7.1.9.1); and it works very well; so far I haven't had any of the previously mentioned issues; and my real time scanning is easily enabled. The only problem I have with it; is that when the bloody program recommends a restart; it actually just goes straight into it; so make sure you don't have anything important and unsaved open when making major changes that would require that situation.
As well; I used to use FSecure; but this CA EZ seems to use far less system resources than my old anti-virus; which is great, because it has cut my startup time down to less than 1 minute.

I too experienced the problem with real time protection on CA AntiVirus. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it using run as administrator and it works fine now. (Except for asking for tray permission twice on each startup - more of an anoyance than anything else.) -- Regards, Butch
